Six hip beach pavilions in Zeeland Flanders

You can take the bike or go on foot. Or you do it completely differently: you go out in a golf cart! From Cadzand-Bad via Groede to Breskens. We continue our route one beach pavilion over: beach pavilion Ruig. With its white-painted walls and sloping roof, Ruig is a real eye-catcher. As soon as you step inside the pavilion, you immediately experience the relaxed atmosphere of this pavilion with wooden materials and industrial look. A real rugged look where you definitely want to spend some time. There are several cozy benches outside where you can enjoy your snack and drink in peace. Tosti Ruig comes highly recommended, as does the pizza bread with various tapenades. Super tasty and fun to share!

There are plenty of trendy addresses on the coast of Zeeland, so we’re going to continue. On to the botanical beach pavilion Wild 17 in Nieuwvliet! Inside, you will find special plants and tall murals everywhere, and outside there is a nice terrace. Everything together makes this place very cozy to spend some time. By now lunch is a while ago, so it’s time for ice cream. There is a choice of ice cream sundaes and varying desserts such as crème brûlée with mango ginger sorbet or a praline cake with meringue and cinnamon ice cream. Not much of an ice cream lover? Then Woest 17 has plenty of other snacks and drinks to choose from.

Almost in Breskens, so almost at the end of the route (16 km total). But not before we visited ‘T Halve Maentje. Beach pavilion ‘t Halve Maentje got a completely new look last year and it shows immediately. With the striking pink flag with moon waving happily in the wind, you really can’t miss this hotspot. Inside you are surprised by a fresh and light interior. We took a warm brie sandwich with walnuts and honey, and that turned out to be a hit. Highly recommended for those who want to enjoy good food with a view of the Westerschelde estuary.
