For a day in the city, take the Westerscheldeferry to Vlissingen with its boulevard and ship views. Nearby are Groede at 4 km, Nieuwvliet at 7 km, Cadzand at 12 km and the fortified town Sluis at 15 km. Knokke-Heist in Belgium is about 25 km away.
